Well, the Eagles couldn't get a deadline deal done, but the Cowboys and Skins made moves. The 'Boys ponied up a first, third and sixth rounder in next year's draft to the Lions for Roy Williams
. They also threw in a 7th round pick in 2009 for good measure. Quite a hefty price, and if the Eagles were ever involved in the talks I'd assume they hung up when Detroit said they wanted a first-rounder. They gave up a ton, but having Williams on one side of the field and T.O. on the other is going to be tough to deal with. We can only hope that T.O.'s ego won't be able to handle sharing the spotlight, but what are the odds of that?
The Skins signed Shaun Alexander out of retirement to back up Clinton Portis. Not a huge deal, but they did shore up an area of need.
The Eagles, on the other hand, couldn't pry Tony Gonzalez away from the Chiefs, but at least the Giants didn't get him either. All told, the Cowboys got a lot better today, let's just hope they completely fold in the next four weeks when they're missing Tony Romo (injury), Felix Jones (injury) and Pacman (suspension).
