The Eagles/Giants game this Sunday at 4 p.m. is more important than any meeting between the teams in the past five years. Tied at 7-6, the division title is still in reach for both teams and they are also in a three-way tie for the wild card spot.
If the Eagles win out, they win the NFC East, Sunday is the first step, but it won't be an easy one. Tiki Barber has gashed the Eagles in the past, add that to the way their run defense has been playing and you have a recipe for disaster. In the first meeting the Eagles stuffed Barber, holding him to 51 yards rushing, and they sacked Eli Manning 8 times. Of course, they still lost, but they have had success against this team. A loss doesn't end the season, but it'll be a tough row to hoe if they face two must-win games to end the season at Dallas and at home vs. the Falcons, the other team they're currently tied with for the wild card.
Garcia needs to continue to play mistake-free football, and the defense needs to make some plays (turnovers) for the Eagles to come away with the win.
Here's some coverage on Sunday's game:
- LJ Smith wants the ball, but won't complain about not getting it.
- Tiki Barber downplays his excitement. (I'm really sick of this guy's act. I don't have time for guys that think playing sports for millions of dollars a year is a hardship)
- Michael Strahan may be done for the year.
