As the Giants and Packers head into overtime and I enter my 7th hour of football viewing the question that keeps popping into my mind is what cruel and unusual punishment is my wife concocting in the other room (I have a feeling I'm going to be making a trip to the florist tomorrow). Honestly, I've watch both of these games rooting against two teams, rather than for their opponents. I haven't even really enjoyed the games all that much.
This is the first time in his 65-year career that I'm rooting for Brett Favre, and it makes me a little sick to my stomach. I cringed for 3 hours earlier every time they showed LaDainian Tomlinson's smoked-glass face mask sulking on the sidelines. I've come this far, though. So I'm going to stick it out until the end. I just want to get on the record somewhere that I know a reckoning is coming, and in hindsight, I just wish I could've watched one team I actually cared about today. Damn you, Eagles.
UPDATE: Perfect ending to a horrible day. Giants vs. Pats in the Super Bowl, who do I root for?
