Without Derrick Rose, the Bulls lose that go-to guy who can penetrate at will, hit crazy shots no matter what defense you throw at him, get a whistle to stop a scoring drought and carry the offense to a win when nothing else is working. Superstars can win games by themselves in the playoffs, and the Bulls are decidedly without one now. C.J. Watson isn't that type of player, not at all. What he is, however, is another cog with a specific purpose on the offensive end, and he fills his role very, very well.

Click for full story. Philadelphia's poor performance in the opener of their first-round series against the Bulls stopped being the story with 1:10 left in the game when Derrick Rose tore his ACL on a crazy jump-stop in the lane. Rose's absence is certainly an advantage for the Sixers in the remaining games of the series, but he didn't beat them today. The Sixers have a lot of work to do, schematically, on the defensive end prior to game two. (game capsule)

Click for full story. When the Sixers were sitting at 20-9, talk about winning a round in the playoffs was legitimate. When they were atop the Atlantic Division with an eye on home-court advantage and a lesser foe in the first round, it seemed like almost a certainty. Since then, the sky has fallen, any faith in the team has dissolved and we were pinning our hopes on a bit of luck for the honor of playing the team with the best record in the league in the first round instead of the Miami Heat. The Sixers are nothing if not frustrating, but here we are. The games count now. The question: Can the Sixers beat the Bulls?

Click for full story. Well, the Sixers who suited up got their behinds kicked in the most meaningful, meaningless game of the season. The Sixers locked up the #8 seed and will head to Chicago to take on the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. (game capsule)
