Live on national cable. One of only three games in the league tonight. Against the hated Boston Celtics. If you're going to watch one game this year as a Sixers fan, it would probably be this one.
- PG: Jrue Holiday vs. Rajon Rondo
- SG: Jodie Meeks vs. Ray Allen
- SF: Andre Iguodala vs. Paul Pierce
- PF: Elton Brand vs. Kevin Garnett
- C: Spencer Hawes vs. Semih Erdin
I purposely avoided x's and o's in my preview, but there are a couple of things I wanted to touch on here. It would be easy to view Nate Robinson as an opportunity for Lou Williams to get in the game. Robinson is a guy who isn't going to be a physical problem for Lou to guard, which is a concern some nights. Personally, I'd take the opposite approach. I'd make Boston pay for putting Robinson on the floor. I'd immediately go with a big back court. Jrue and Turner, Jrue and Iguodala or Turner and Iguodala. Force Robinson to guard one of our big guards, and go right at that matchup.
The matchup off the bench that really intrigues me is Thad vs. Glen Davis. Davis is pretty quick for a guy with 30%+ body fat, but he's nowhere near quick enough to contend with Thad's drive from the foul line. On the other end, Thad has been pushed around by Big Baby in the past. Who hurts who more?
The tip is at 8 p.m. I'll be right here throughout, join me if you have a pulse.
Also, don't forget, Derek and I will be airing a live episode of SixersBeat after the game at 11 p.m. Tune in here
. I'll have a post up with all the details when the game ends.
8-14, here we come?
