Lineups

  • PG: Jrue Holiday vs. Stephen Curry
  • SG: Jodie Meeks vs. Monta Ellis
  • SF: Andre Iguodala Andres Nocioni vs. Dorell Wright
  • PF: Elton Brand vs. David Lee
  • C: Spencer Hawes vs. Lou Amundson

Interesting matchups on the defensive end for the Sixers. Do Jrue and Meeks swap covers, putting Jrue on Ellis to slow his penetration? Maybe Jrue takes Curry and Iguodala takes Ellis. On the other end, there's nothing but mismatches. Curry and Ellis are both poor defenders. Lee is terrible on that end. I'm sure they'll put Amundson on Brand, but it really shouldn't matter. Neither of those guys is capable of bothering Brand in the least.

Keep an eye on the pace of the game, the Sixers did an excellent job of slowing Denver down last night. Golden State averages 95.4 possessions/48 minutes, 4th in the league. As we noted after last night's game, Brand is really the biggest concern minute-wise on the second night of the b-2-b, he played 40 last night.

Prediction: Sixers 110 95, Warriors 110

I'm expecting an overdue offensive outburst for the Sixers in this one. They haven't had a good offensive game in almost two weeks (since the Clippers game). Golden State is a good way to fix what ails you on that end. I'm expecting the Nocioni/Meeks wing combo to completely sink the Sixers in this game pretty much right from the start. It's tough to understand why Nocioni is getting this start over Thad and Turner, both would've been far superior options.

This is your game thread, the tip is at 10:30pm (eastern). I'll be right here hoping Evan Turner takes advantage of his matchups when he gets in the game, join me if you're a night owl.
