On Vacation

Click for full story.
The whole Depressed Fan family is on vacation for the next two weeks. Fear not, there will be regular updates here throughout, but I'm not sure how active I will be in the comments during the day. We'll kick off our Predicting 2010 series tomorrow with Jason Kapono. In the mean time, use this post to discuss any and all Sixers news. Enjoy your Monday, guys. Full story

Jrue's Minutes

A couple of articles got caught by my filter over the past couple days about Lou Williams' confidence in stepping into the role of starting point guard, and e-mailed to me by loyal readers (thanks Dean). One blurb in particular caught my eye. Basically, Lou said he's going to be playing 30-35 minutes per night. I'm sure I realized that would be the case, but I hadn't really thought about it. Nor had I thought about how the minutes will be doled out at the guard positions. After the jump, I'm going to try to make an educated guess and see how Jrue fits in. Full story

GM For the Day: Ramon Sessions

You are Ed Stefanski for the day. Your hands aren't completely tied by ownership, they'll let you shell out some money, if the player can make a difference. Here's the question, do you go after Ramon Sessions at this point? Pros, cons and discussion after the jump. Full story

Perhaps I've been too blasé about Andre Miller's departure from the Sixers. I agree that re-singing him for more than two seasons would have been foolish. I understand the team's desire to give Lou a legitimate shot at the point, they did give him a hefty contract last summer after all. Generally, I'm pretty happy with the youth movement, but there are definitely things I'm going to miss about Miller. After the jump we'll talk about one thing in particular that I believe he could've passed on to Jrue Holiday. Full story

Change Your Stripes?

The Michael Vick situation as well as some spirited Iverson debate over the weekend left me with an interesting question I thought I'd pose to you guys. Is there anything the Sixers could do that would make you find another favorite team? Full story

Someone (Else) Please Sign Iverson

Allen Iverson was a great player for the Sixers, he brought my favorite team back from the depths of obscurity, he put the Sixers on his back and took them to the NBA Finals in 2001. I appreciate everything the guy has done for this team and I admire his toughness, talent and unbelievable desire to win. For all of those reasons and more, I hope someone signs him, and does it quickly. I just hope it isn't the Sixers. Full story
