What Yankee has been hit by pitches the most?
(I'm guessing A-Rod?) When you look at the ratio of HBP to Hit batsman, the Yankee pitchers appear to have more control and less retaliation than you'd think.

On the other hand, what Yankee pitcher leads the team in bean balls? (I'm guessing Clemens?)

Phillies batters have been hit by pitches 74 times, which I think leads both leagues. But what I can't find is the pitching statistics ... where do you find your stats?

If any pitching staff is pathetic enough to lead the league in hitting batters unintentionally, I would think it would be the Phils (esp. the bullpen).

Off topic, but what do you think of the Eagles cutting Dirk Johnson and Jeremy Bloom? Was hoping for your take on the whole thing, including the day early release on the website followed by the pulling of the info. an hour after it was posted...

    JJ,

I found my stats at baseball-reference.com

A-Rod has been hit the most times of any Yankee (17), with Jeter second (11). Actually, Wang has hit the most batters (7), Clemens is tied for second (4).

Phillie pitchers have hit 58 batters, Rowand and Utley are tied for the team lead (18).

I'm going to take a look at the Eagles roster moves over the next couple of days, but on first blush I'm surprised that Bloom didn't make the team, but Lewis was returning punts in the first half of the Steelers game, so it wasn't a complete shock. I'm glad Sav won the punting battle. He's got a bigger leg, and I also read somewhere that Akers prefers him as holder, so it's a win-win.
