If you're looking for a silver lining as the Sixers head into Denver on the second night of a back-to-back against a club that's only lost three home games all season and is currently riding a 13-game win streak...well, I don't really know why you would be. Jrue only played 33 minutes last night, I guess that helps.
Tonight will be the first time I've seen Andre Iguodala play in a Nuggets uniform. Sandy robbed me of the pleasure on opening night and I haven't caught a Nuggets game since. Denver is never an easy place to play, tonight the Sixers will need to see positive results early or the altitude and short turnaround will rob them of their legs late.
From an x's and o's perspective, the main question is whether George Karl will let Jrue get off to a good start against Ty Lawson, or whether he'll put his defensive stopper on the Sixers only hope right from the jump.
I don't give the Sixers much of a chance in this one. The Nuggets are oozing athleticism, and theyr'e running a system that really fits their personnel. Iguodala has elevated their defense to the point where they're no longer a sideshow. Maybe Thad can be a difference maker if Karl decides to go small, but against the starting lineup he's going to have his hands full trying to keep Faried off the glass.
An interesting sideshow will be whether Collins decides to cut Dorell's minutes in favor of Nick Young now that Young has hit a couple of jumpers in a game.
The tip is at 9pm. This is your game thread. I'll be here throughout. Join me if you must.
