Dei Lynam is reporting the Sixers have decided on Eddie Jordan to become their new head coach. A source confirmed to me they do have an agreement in principle. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for a strong defensive guy to be brought in to mold this team into an elite defensive squad. I suppose the door is still open for a top-notch defensive mind to take on the role of lead assistant.

When I was checking to see if the combine measurements were posted yet, I stumbled across a cool feature at DraftExpress. They have a list of which plays are scheduled to workout for which teams, and when. After the jump, we'll check out the guys already on the Sixers' docket.

I had a chance to catch the point guard portion of the NBA Draft Combine from Chicago on my lunch break this afternoon. A few thoughts after the jump.

Andy Miller, Andre Miller's agent (no relation) said the Sixers are still his first choice. During the season, Ed Stefanski said, or at least intimated, that Andre Miller was a part of this team's future. After going over this from about 2,000 different angles, I just don't see bringing him back as a step forward for this franchise. The question is, could they possibly see it differently?

Over the next two days, the NBA will hold its first Draft Combine in Chicago. The NBA hopefuls will be poked, prodded, measured and run through drills. Hopefully, we'll get a look at all the measurables for guys like Jrue Holiday, Stephen Curry and Eric Maynor in short order. After the jump we'll take a look at a couple of updated mock drafts and a Q&A with Courtney Witte, director of player personnel for the Sixers.

I've waited until this point for the first installment because I wanted to see what direction the coaching search would take and how the draft lottery would play out. Atop everyone's offseason wish list for the Sixers is a three-point shooter. This isn't going to be another post about who could possibly fill that role, instead, we're going to try to take a statistical look at how hard it will be to meet the need.
