When the clock strikes 12:01 a.m. tonight general managers across the country can officially open negotiations with free agents. After the jump I'll lay out my plan for the first NBA front office all-nighter of the Summer.

It's rare that a rumor is denied before I even catch wind of it, but it happened today. The rumor apparently sprung from a report in the South Florida Sun Sentinel, but for the life of me I can't find the original source. Anyway, Ed Stefanski quickly shot it down, and later today Bethlehem Shoals had his own take on the matter for the Sporting News. We'll examine the rumor after the jump and I'll give my take.
When the whirlwind of the NBA draft finally settles down and Jrue Holiday has a chance to take a breath and start thinking about how he's going to earn minutes in his rookie season, he really needs to sit down with Andre Iguodala. Actually, I'll take it a step further, he needs to become Iguodala's shadow. In the gym, in the weight room, in film study. You name it, they need to be attached at the hip because these guys have a whole lot in common.
Now that the draft has sorted itself out, and the Sixers have an apparent need for a veteran PG, let's take a look around the league and see who's going to be in the market for a PG, and which PGs are available.
Since the selection of Jrue Holiday with the #17 pick in Thursday night's draft I've seen and heard reactions from fans ranging from loving the move to hating it. You all know which camp I fall in, and you know why. What really made me curious was the fans who were dead-set against Holiday. After the jump I'll take a stab at putting my thumb on the root of the frustration, and maybe shed a little light on what direction this team is headed, or to be more accurate, how quickly they're headed there.
Latest comment: from eddies' heady'sSo our young core having some 'glaring negatives' (Dala's inconsistent jumper, Thad's rebounding and perimeter shooting, Lou being sporadic constantly, Speight's immaturity on defense, etc.) somehow gets turned into them 'sucking'? Still changing around lingo,...
As most of you know, I went into this draft with unrealistic hopes of seeing the Sixers trade up to get Stephen Curry. When Curry went #7 to the Warriors I felt deflated. When Brandon Jennings went to the Bucks at #10 I felt encouraged. When Earl Clark went to the Suns at #14 I was downright excited. Why? Because at that point, Jrue Holiday was a virtual lock to drop to the Sixers.
SIXERS SELECT JRUE HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! After weeks of preparation for quite possibly the worst draft of the decade, the time is finally here. I'll be taking part in a live blog of tonight's draft over on Arin It Out (check after the jump for the link). I highly encourage everyone to join me there. It should be fun to see my head explode when someone drafts Curry.
Only eight hours or so until the 2009 NBA draft kicks off. I'm expecting a tornado of rumors and speculation between now and then, so let's open up a thread to aggregate the links and comment on the rumors. Leave everything and anything in the comments, I only ask that you include the link so we can all read the source and comment on it.
Rumor has it you consider the acquisition of Acie Law to be the solution to your point guard woes and you've now turned your attention to PF Jordan Hill with the number 7 pick in tonight's draft. I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd take a look after the jump for an alternative strategy.
Two teams in the lottery made big moves on Tuesday, each could have a profound effect on who goes where, so after the jump let's take a look at the top ten picks and try to figure out what has changed in the past 24 hours.
Chad Ford's Draft Buzz column has been a must-read for a while, for laughs if nothing else. Yesterday, one item in particular caught my eye. Details after the jump.
The Sixers started their Summer a bit earlier than usual this year, but three days before the draft seems like a very good time to compare rosters from 2008 to 2009. After the jump we'll take a look at where the team stood at this time last year and maybe grade Ed Stefanski on the fruit of his labor over his first full season as GM.
