Bob Cooney has the scoop. "Sixers officials" will apparently meet with Avery Johnson on Monday. I'm not sure who "Sixers officials" are, but you'd assume if Ed Stefanski isn't there, something may be up. Quick thoughts and a flash poll after the jump.
Something I've realized for a long time around here is that you guys make this whole blogging endeavor 1,000 times more enjoyable in the comments. With that in mind, I thought it would be a great weekly feature to have a reader-guided post. Details and instructions after the jump.
Sorry guys, the show had to be canceled tonight. Will let you know when the next episode will air.
Latest comment: from Derek BodnerA young, slightly longer Hunter's not a bad comparison....
Up next in the Feelings On series is none other than Marreese Speights. The man who gained 30 pounds over the course of an NBA season.
Let's say the rumors are true and Larry Brown is brought in to be the basketball Messiah for the Sixers in the coming hours, days or weeks. Whether you're pro-Larry or not, one thing is for sure. When he's given the reins he will make at least one head-scratching trade. After the jump, let's see if we can guess who he'll target.
Latest comment: from JohnEMageeI was enjoying the concept a bit more until 'larry brown, team president' was uttered...
Adrian Wojnarowski reported on the Larry Brown situation earlier today, and it seems to me like there might be some weight to these rumors. The latest revolves around LB coming back to Philly as President of Basketball Operations, and he supposedly has his eye on Milt Newton, one of his former players, to come in as GM and Mike Woodson to take over as coach. Thoughts after the jump.
Take a gander at the Sixers team page on 82games.com, I'll wait. Two particular numbers jumped out at me, opponent's production vs. Lou (17.2) and vs. Jrue (19.9). 15.0 is supposedly league-average, the lower the number, the better. Having watched every second of Sixers basketball this season, I can emphatically tell you Lou Williams isn't half the defender Jrue Holiday is, so how do you explain that number? We'll give it a try after the jump.
Latest comment: from rswknightI've never seen a player whose def stance looks like his back went out once he crosses half court. Just kills me...
Ed Stefanski's masterstroke, Elton Brand, is fodder for the fourth installment in the Feelings On series. Discuss after the jump.
I wish they'd hold the NBA draft lottery the day after the season ended. This period between the final game and the lottery drawing is pure agony. There's only so much research you can do, only so many scenarios you can run. Still, this is the hand we've been dealt, so I decided to tackle some math and break down Chad Ford's lottery/mock draft machine as well. Check it out after the jump.
Up next in our "Feelings On" series, Mr. Thaddeus Young. A prodigy his rookie season, emerging as a number-one scoring option late in his sophomore year, only to regress to the point of irrelevance under the watchful eye of Fast Eddie Jordan. What do you see Thad's role as going forward in Philly?
